The HST takes effect in B.C. on July 1, 2010. To add this tax to SmartSeries, go to Tables/Taxes, click New and enter the following details:
To update SmartSeries invoice forms, etc. to show HST you will need to run the 4.1.7c HotFix 3* on the download page here (*Run the 4.1.7c update first if on an older version. To check version go to Help/About SmartSeries)
